5 things you need to know before your interview

  4. Before your interview make sure your online profile is fully up to date and complete, including adding two referees.  Your referees will only be contacted if you receive a job offer from Kings.
  5. Don’t forget to add your interviewer on Skype. You’ll see their Skype username at the bottom of the interview confirmation email.
  6. If you need to reschedule your interview we should be able to accommodate you as long as you give us enough warning. Please give us a call on 0114 263 2155.  If for any reason you no longer wish to be considered for this role please let us know as soon as possible so that we can use your interview slot for another candidate.

6 things you need to know about working for Kings Camps

  1. Kings Camps have been running for 23 years with some of our longest serving staff members having been with us for over 10 years! When you become a Kings Camps staff member we count you as being part of the family. We pride ourselves in providing great opportunities for our staff members, helping you along the road to reach your long-term career goals.
  2. We want you to not just act the part but look the part too. All staff are provided a Kings Camps uniform:  a hoody, 2 T-shirts, trousers, shorts and a lanyard.  Kings pay half the cost of the uniform but staff are required to pay the other half which is £25 and this is taken out of your first month’s wage.
  3. You must have an up to date DBS check. If you have completed a DBS with another organisation within 12 months of the end of your contract with us then you can work under this.  If not, then you will need to carry out a DBS check with Kings, this costs £58 and will cover you for a further 3-years of working with us.  (The cost of the DBS check for voluntary placements, i.e. work placement and work experience as well as Site Managers is paid by us).
  4. Kings Camps have specific staff to child ratios and we ask staff to be available Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm for the duration of their contract, however available hours may vary depending on child numbers. Staff are informed of their specific hours the weekend before the following week of camp. If you have a Bank Contract this means you will be given hours of work once Full Contract staff have been allocated theirs.
  5. Before your employment begins, you need to complete our online learning programme.  This is essential to familiarising yourself with our policies and procedures as well as learning more about our organisation and your specific role.  Online Learning should take no longer than 3-4 hours to complete, this can be done at any time before your Preparation Day.
  6. We want to make sure you are fully prepared for camp and therefore there is a Preparation Day which usually takes place the weekend before the start of each season.  Preparation Day is compulsory for all staff as it enables you to familiarise yourself with the venue, meet the management and staff team and  learn more about what you can expect when working on camp. Managers and specialist coaching staff are also required to attend one Training Day before the start of the summer season, attendance at this event is compulsory.
