Our Lady’s Abingdon (OLA) is a thriving and highly regarded Catholic independent day school for boys and girls aged 3-18 years. Founded in 1860 and set in pleasant grounds, they are but a few minutes walk to the centre of the historic market town of Abingdon, and just 8 miles from the city of Oxford.

The School was founded in 1860 by the Sisters of Mercy, who resided in Abingdon and who still have a role in the life of the School, helping to strengthen the ethos of integrity. The motto of the school is age quod agis – ‘whatever you do, do it well’ – sums up this approach. Children are taught to develop their talents, not just for their own benefit but for the benefit of the wider community.

The school continues to expand and upgrade its already extensive facilities which include a 25 metre indoor heated swimming pool, large sports hall (4 court), Drama studio, Main hall, Open cafe area, Outdoor Muga for small group activities, lot’s of grassed areas and large playing fields for the 30 sports and activities we provide in the school holidays.
